You recently got married in the south at The Cloister at Sea Island. Congratulations! What do you think distinguishes southern weddings from others? The south is all about tradition! Whether it’s burying the bourbon bottle in hopes for good weather, or the large amounts of seersucker worn at a summertime wedding. My bouquet was the sweet southern gardenia, that smell always reminds me of summer in the south!

You incorporated many personal design elements into your wedding scheme, such as your favorite Pierre Frey “Bonne Peche” print for envelope liners. Are there other design elements you like to incorporate into your entertaining? Many of the fabric houses have incorporated their famous prints into napkins...for instance, Pierre Frey with the Caspari Napkins and Scalamandra’s Ionic Zebra print. Pierre Frey is one of my most favorite fabric lines, I keep stacks of their napkins in our bar. I also have made tablecloths out of leftover fabrics and love using them on my table.

We all know southerners are serious about tradition. Do you have certain traditions when it comes to setting the table? My mother is a true southern lady, for ALL holidays (even birthdays - any excuse really), she uses her china and silver. This is a tradition that she has instilled in me as well. My mom also loved tablecloths. Each week and season she changed the one in our breakfast room, which is why I love them too.

If you were to pull together a last-minute romantic tablescape for you and your new groom, which elements would be your go-tos? I’d mix in our porcelain we brought back from our honeymoon in Greece, the monogrammed napkins I gave him when we were dating and LOTS of votives. Candlelight always evokes romance.

Do you have a most memorable dinner party experience? What made it so special? My very talented friend and artist Sally King Benedict threw an intimate dinner party after the opening of one of her shows. It was a dinner for about 30 people, the chef of a popular Atlanta restaurant made the most delicious meal. Being surrounded with friends, the beautiful art, and eating such wonderful food, was just amazing! Another favorite experience, is my 3 best friends from college and I have a yearly ornament exchange, each year we cook dinner together at one of our homes. It is a tradition that we started a few years ago and is a night I look forward to every year!

As an interior designer, you must come across many fabulous products - entertaining and otherwise. Who are you currently coveting for tableware and cutlery? Oh my, this is a hard question! I really just love porcelain and just want it ALL. Right now I’m currently coveting the Cabana Magazine/Moda Operandi Ginori collaboration, the mix of the blue and pink porcelain is fantastic! I’d love love some turquoise handled cutlery and I can't get enough monogram linens, and printed tablecloths. India Armory ones of course! OH and I’m also on the lookout for a large silver mussy tussy holder.
