A Brand New Year With Becky

Hi Becky! We're such fans of your work - what led you to interior design? Thank you! I have always loved interior design. As a young child I would constantly rearrange my parents house, always asking each birthday to redecorate my room. After college I moved to New York and worked for a firm there, which solidified my love for all things traditional design.
Who/what do you consider to be your greatest sources of inspiration? Travel! I love seeing how others live in their own homes and cities.
Favorite interior designers, artists? Markham Roberts, Mark Hampton, Mario Buatta, Daniel Romauldez, Ashley Whittaker, Christopher Spitzmiller, Cy Twombly, Tigran Tsitoghdzyan, Markarian, Tom Sheerer!
Do you have any go to tips for hosting a dinner? Serve up cocktails as soon as your guests enter the home, dim the lights and lots of candles & salty snacks! Either have it catered or prep before, and serve something easy to eat!
How do you approach setting a dinner table? I love having something to munch on already set on the table when guests sit down, but then always serve a plated dinner. Lots of cocktails, fun placecards and I always love integrating a surprise during dinner (singers, a game, a fun dance party).
What draws you to India Amory linens and patterns? They are the perfect mix of my West and East Coast loves. East Coast with hosting and linens, but then West Coast with block prints. I love that everything is always evolving and the ease at which they can be formal for a fun dinner or an informal outdoor lunch. A wise investment!
How did you scheme out your recent (and divine) Southern Living dining room? This has been my dream dining room for years, but was waiting for the perfect opportunity to showcase properly. The room’s tall and narrow windows lead to the drapery style, and the square room with an off-center fireplace gave way to the circular table. I love ruffles and felt that this formal Southern Living house was the perfect opportunity. Gracie always makes a room feel special and the tall ceilings were the perfect landscape for their new bamboo pattern. I loved working on this project and collaborating with all involved!
Do you have any holiday traditions/plans that were special this year? We just moved to our new home in Charlotte, North Carolina! We are loving hosting in the formal dining room, and lighting fires in the living room. We’ll be hosting both families this year which makes the new home so much more special!
Who are your favorite accounts to follow for inspiration on instagram in the design/style space? @theglampad @marthaward @secretsofahostess @m.o.endres @lefashion
What's next for Becky Boyle? We are working on two big exciting projects in Los Angeles as well as a gorgeous compound in Florida! 2020, I’m ready for you!
